AkkordIon is a unique duo from Ukraine/Kazakhstan. Two professionally trained musicians – Roman Bliznetsov (22 y.o., accordion) and Konstantin Timoshenko (33 y.o., percussive) collaborated to record this outstanding mini-album. The result is here, and you never heard anything like this before – minimal techno (and abstract ambient) with accordion!

Almost everything for this release was recorded with an accordion and processed harmonica, with a very insignificant use of synthesizers, sample collages and field recordings.

"Akkord I on" starts with a deep, groovy and relaxed techno track – the bass line is raw and filling, harmonica melodies are sentimental and desperate, and the whole atmosphere is touching and calming. Track No.2 is also groovy, but much more experimental and provocative – abstract clicks-n-cuts are combined with sudden blasts of accordion.
The second part of this album is abstract and delicate: noisy, but elegant sound collages with a flowing melodies, rudimental clicking beats (Track 3) and a truly industrial (brutal and lo-fi) harmonica playing (Track 4).

Roman studied accordion and harmonica at the musical college in Alma-Ata, he was playing with various musical ensembles, and now he is occupied as a DJ. Konstantin is a professional drummer and music producer; he is a founder of such musical projects, as “Les Enfants De Paris”, “Pop’s Machine”, “Sample Brothers” and others. Also, he is an active member of [antiparty gang] project and organizer/curator of media-art festival Replica.
